I second the comments on the great work Christian Nanini has been doing! I am still unpacking from my move and told myself I was going to wait on the Falcon until I got Ninjago City finished - but did not have the willpower to wait! :) I was also lucky to get an order in for the new UCS Falcon before they shut it down on their site and my backordered set arrived a few weeks ago. And we are also considering selling a sound card to go with the kit- what sounds would you want to have? Remember that we wouldn't be able to put any trademarked or copyrighted sounds onto a module.Īgain, thank you for sharing your great work! We are considering several other ideas for lighting the engines, and will post more information when we have it.Ĭhristian Nanini , keep up the great work, and if you think of things you wish we made or offered for the Falcon, please let us know! For example, we might be able to make a specialized remote control board that would allow you to fire the main laser cannons using the remote.

I know there are others on the Internet who are considering using EL wire for their engines, but from a manufacturing perspective, we didn't think it would be the best solution. Dimming EL wire or adding effects requires specialized circuitry.EL wire is actually not as bright as LEDs.EL wire power supplies emit an audible "HUM" when in operation (like with a fluorescent light). We'd considered EL wire as well, as Paul George suggested, but EL wire has several drawbacks: You might also think about putting a flashing Pico LED somewhere in the cockpit to simulate a console panel.įor the engines, I like what you've come up with using the light strips. The UV LEDs aren't easy to see unless they are shining on plastic that glows in the dark (like pieces from the LEGO space sets), so if you had UV lights there, you wouldn't be able to see them as easily as the blue.įor the cockpit, a blue light would work well also- unless there are parts inside the cockpit that glow in the dark (then a UV LED would work). So: so far i had put a light into to of the Hallway stickers door (one in each room inside the falcon:Ĭhristian Nanini thank you so much for sharing your progress- amazing work! Since we don't (yet) have one of these kits to work with ourselves, watching your work is great and very helpful as we refine our own design for a kit.Īs for the question of whether to use blue or UV lights for the underside of the ship, I'd recommend sticking with the blue LED. Here it is so far:ĥ- I will be getting a pack of Pico LED white (10)Ħ- i will be getting a 1:9 expansion adaptor with micro plug, or 2 (4 port expansion adaptor with micro plugs, or both depending on how it goes)ħ- I will be adding the USB power cable, to plug into my Battery pack (rechargeable battery pack for iphones and computer- to be mounted under my table display, so it will be easily reachable for recharging)Ĩ- i will be getting the 4 channel infrared control module with sensor and the remote to be able to light it up remotely and to have the 4 splitter (2 on-off and 2- on-off or flickering effect additionnal to my effect controller that came with the starter kit) The photos I took look amazing.I am building the new UCS Millenium Falcon and figuring out where would be the best places to light it up. It’s very large and will take up a fair amount of space, but it folds up easily and is compact. As a cosplayer, this presents an incredible backdrop for shots! I was really impressed with its quality, ease of construction and attention to detail. I did a selfie of myself in it and you’d think I was in the real-deal!!!įor any of you fellow Scoundrels or just plain Falcon lovers, this is a must have!!!Ībsolutely outstanding. The detail and crispness of this backdrop is stunning. Would love to see more of these two piece backdrops 5 Amazing backdrop love how you can get in between it looks so realistic everybody loved it!.
